Can I still go for a run?
During exercise, breathing becomes faster and deeper. When haze levels are elevated, that can increase the amount of polluted air you inhale.
Check your local reading first. If API reaches the unhealthy category, swap a long outdoor workout for gentler indoor activity or wait until conditions improve. If you develop wheezing, breathlessness, chest discomfort or unusual coughing, stop and seek appropriate medical advice.

Should you open your windows?
During heavy haze, keep windows and doors closed where practical to limit smoke particles entering the home. If available, use suitable indoor air filtration and avoid generating extra indoor smoke.
Closing windows temporarily does not mean you must keep a home sealed indefinitely. Fresh-air ventilation is important too; when outdoor air improves, ventilate according to your home's needs. A crowded room can develop elevated CO₂ even when outdoor pollution is low.
During heavy hazeReduce outdoor-air entry, avoid indoor smoking and burning, and consider using an appropriate air purifier.
